The Peak District

Hardwick Hall - It was the formidable 'Bess of Hardwick' who first created Hardwick in the 1500s. In the centuries since then her descendants, farmers, gardeners, builders, decorators, embroiderers and craftsmen of all kinds have contributed and made Hardwick their creation.	Ladybower - Situated in the Upper Derwent valley in the heart of the Peak National Park Ladybower Reservoir is surrounded by magnificent countryside where woodland and water are topped by high moors.	The Monsal Trail - A traffic free route for walkers, cyclists, horse riders and wheelchair users through some of the Peak District's most spectacular limestone dales. The trail runs along the former Midland Railway line for 8.5 miles between Blackwell Mill, in Chee Dale and Coombs Road, at Bakewell.
Walking & Hiking - The Peak District National Park is home to an amazingly diverse range of landscape, ones with expansive and dramatic panoramic views, snapshots that you will fall in love with and remember forever. From the rugged limestone valleys to calm lakes and reservoirs. Wherever you walk in the Derbyshire countryside or the Peak District National Park you can always be guaranteed to get the time and space to take a deep breath of fresh air and feel closer to nature.	Longshaw Estate - A gateway to the Peak District. Enjoy a walk down to Padley Gorge, explore the remnants of the millstone industry or look out for wildlife. Set in the heart of the beautiful Peak District National Park, parts of the house date from the 12th Century and film-makers flock to Haddon Hall to use it as a location - Jane Eyre, Elizabeth, Pride & Prejudice and The Other Boleyn Girl. Eyam Hall - The house is a remarkably unspoilt example of a Jacobean manor house. The farm buildings have been converted into a working craft centre with several shops. Kinder Scout - If you’re looking for the most famous, challenging and rewarding walks in the Peak District National Park, it has to be Kinder Scout. It’s the highest point in the Peak District and comes with unforgettable views, unique moorland and even a waterfall. The walk is a journey through many different landscapes, illustrating the diversity of the Peak District.	Cycling In The Peak District - Pedal Peak District is run by the Peak District National Park Authority to help you discover the benefits of cycling. Chatsworth House - Chatsworth is one of Britain’s best loved historic houses and estates, offering something for everyone to enjoy, from famous works of art and the spectacular fountains in the garden to the finest shopping, food and drink and many miles of free walks.	Gliding & Paragliding - Derbyshires Flying Centre is the primary BHPA Hang Gliding and Paragliding registered school and it is very close to East View Cottage and Eyam. Derbyshire is one the best places to paraglide and hang glide. If you are inspired by the paragliders overhead, then drop them a line!	Eyam Museum - The museum tells the story of the chain of events that led to 260 Eyam villagers dying from bubonic plague.
